Pakistan Film History page 1988

(Don't want name mentioned)

Hello Mazhar,
I am reading your site since some years but it is my first email to you. I want thanks to you for this site, it is really a great effort on Pakistani Films. But it seems you personally favour Punjabi films than urdu.
You have written in 1988s history page Super star Nadeem achieved some amazing successes in
Pakistan Film History - 1988 Please change your comment from 1988s page or list more that All Punjabi heroes are also flop in urdu language.
Urdu films. He tried to become Punjabi film hero and produced a Punjabi film Mukhra. He also sang two hit duet songs with Madam Noor Jehan... film was a hit but he was not successful as Punjabi film hero. Surprisingly, almost all main Urdu film super stars as Mohammad Ali, Zeba, Shabnum, Waheed Murad, Shamim Ara, Babra Sharif and Nadeem are "flop actors" in films of Pakistan's most spoken language Punjabi.
Shamim Ara was never flop in Punjabi films because she never wanted to become a Punjabi heroine. Similarly Zeba did not try to become a Punjabi heroine if she has worked in, if an star of Urdu film work in a Punjabi film, it does not mean he/she want to become a Punjabi film star. Shamim Ara has only 1 punjabi film as heroine.
Zeba worked in only 1 punjabi film Mehndi wale Hath (1963) which was flop, so it does not mean she tried to become a Punjabi heroine.
If we talk about Punjabi heroes, so according to your view point all are flops in urdu films. Akmal is flop, Sultan Rahi is flop, his double versions are mostly hit in Punjab, his pure urdu films are flops, Anjuman, Aasiya, Firdous all are flops. I can write a list of top Punjabi heroes which are flop in urdu films. Both Punjabi and urdu are different.
Please change your comment from 1988s page or list more that All Punjabi heroes are also flop in urdu language.
If we talk about international standard only urdu films are at international standars but you are giving importance to Punjabi films.
Best regards,

  • Sudhir, Habib, Ejaz, Neelo, Rani, Shaan and Saima achieved great success in both Urdu and Punjabi films (Mazhar)
  1. How we can find some one is Urdu star or Punjabi star. If Shan is successful in Punjabi films so You should to say that top urdu film hero shan issuccessful in Punjabi films. because he first appearedin urdu films and also he was star in urdu films, after that he tried to become a Punjabi film hero.

  2. Habib was one of the top stars in urdu films from1958-1963, in the beginning of the carrier he was not successful as Punjabi hero, so he was urdu film hero. Later from film Dil da Jani (1967) he got breakthrough in Punjabi films. So Habib was a urdu film hero which also got success in Punjabi.

  3. Although Sudhir is Punjabi film hero because he got more success in these films but first he succeeded as urdu film hero, later he was successful in Punjabi.

  4. Sabiha is top most actress of urdu films which also got success in Punjabi films in 50s.

  5. Rani was an Urdu star in beginning of carrier later she became Urdu+Punjabi heroine at the same time. I believe Waheed murad, Nadeem, Mohammad Ali, Shabnum and Babra are flop in Punjabi films because they tried in Punjabi films but never succeeded but Shamim ara and Zeba never tried to become Punjabi film heroinesso how they are flop. If an star does one film in other language it does not mean he/she want to become a star in other language. Shabnum and Babra tried in Punjabi films when their era was over in urdu so they are flop.
Regarding to Punjabi stars Only top star Sudhir is successful in Urdu. So Most of urdu film stars are flop in Punjabi also most of Punjabi film stars are flop in urdu.
I want to say if Sudhir, Neelo and Saima are Punjabi stars who got success in urdu films. There are Habib, Rani, Sabiha and Shan are urdu stars which got success in Punjabi films too.
  • You forget Ejaz, who was more successful than any other film hero in Pakistan in both Urdu and Punjabi films. He was the only diamond jubilee film hero in both languages, only Shaan share the record with him. Your mail need a detailed answer. which you will get in few days...
